Everyday in June I shall be mentioning a “Pub a Day“
These will be 30 pubs you probably not been in, never been in, not sure what to expect, dont know where they are.
We all know by now which are the best ale pubs in Sheffield but what about the others we dont hear of as they have not got Facebook or Twitter or there isnt a website for us to look at or they are not in the town centre.
Below are my 30 pubs and I have been to each one and a link to their page is on their pub name below:
I would love to hear your opinions also on these 30 pubs
Head of Steam (8 ales), West Street Ale House (6 ales),
In September/October I am searching for my favourite ale pubs with my list of criteria so now its YOUR turn to me everyone know which is your favourite ale pubs.
It is anonymous, I dont see who you voted for and no one else does.
You only get 1 vote per category.
Vote page is here
This will also appear in the walks section of all 14 pubs from Fox Hill to Chapeltown:
The Pheasant Inn (2 ales), Fox and Hounds (2 ales), Cow and Calf (8 ales all Sam Smiths), The New Red Lion (2 ales), Norfolk Arms – Grenoside (4 ales), The Angel (1 ale), The Old Harrow (3 ales), The Old Red Lion (4 ales), The Acorn (5 ales), Crown and Cushion (3 ales), Warncliffe Arms (3 ales), The Commercial (9 ales)
We did visit 2 more pubs but they didnt have any ales on.
This walk was from bottom of Fox Hill Road and walked all the way upto Grenoside and did those pubs, then a short stroll through the woods, you need some good shoes on here as it can be a bit muddy due to the horses that go through here, head to Bruncross Road and walk all the way to Chapeltown passing a few more pubs and then up Station Road to The Commercial.
Latest new pubs visited and added are:
Three Merry Lads (5 ales), The Sportsman (Lodge Moor) (5 ales), Shiny Sheff (6 ales), Old Horns Inn (7 ales) The Plough (Lower Bradfield (6 ales), The Nags Head (9 ales), The Shakey (3 ales), Shepney Spitifre (6 ales), Three Cranes (7 ales), Sportsman (Crosspool 12 ales), Crosspool Tavern (3 ales), Cross Sythes (Derbyshire Lane 9 ales), Prince of Wales (Derbyshire Lane – 5 ales), The Grouse Inn (4 ales), Palm Tree (2 ales), Mount Pleasant (5 ales), Cross Scythes (Totley – 4 ales).
