I have noticed some of my favourite pubs I visit don’t serve cask ales, they are either all keg or bottles so I shall add them in the new section for 2018.
The Tramshed – this is on London Rd/Chesterfield Rd and is close to White Lion and Pour, hard to spot from outside as it has no sign above the place, the front is wooden with windows and you might see a sign outside the pub, once inside it is narrow looking place and they have plenty of cans and bottles to drink inside, the drinks menu is split into IPA, stouts/porters etc etc, they have recently got 6/7 keg lines, which usually has a cider, a lager and some ales. They also have a beer garden as well at the back.
The Old Workshop – situated near the place where Peddlers market is on. This is not open everyday so best to check their Facebook page for opening days. Once inside it is quite deep going back to the bar which is at the back of the pub. there is no cask on but have 8/9 keg lines which have 1/3rds and they have quite a few cans and bottles which you can drink inside, they also do snack foods as well. Plenty of seating in this place.
Boozehound – this bar is inside the Cutlery Works which is next door to Gardeners Rest, this bar is upstairs and you end up walking past loads of food stalls, ideal place to eat when out in this area. They serve about 6/7 keg lines, no cask and they had a nice selection when I was last in. This is a card only bar so no cash.
Pour – situated next door to The White Lion at Heeley, run by 3 people and they serve 6 craft keg, 1 lager and 1 cider and they are all vegan friendly. Plenty of seating area in here and you will find games to play in here as well ,they are also dog friendly. Pizzas are served here as well. If you are not a fan of Kegs then you can pop next door to the White Lion and you are also close to Heeley pubs. The 24/25/44/20 buses all go past this pub.
