This pub is My No 6 in Pub of the Year 2016
This is on London Road and new owners as well and becoming one of my favs visited pubs. The new owners have done a fab job in turning this pub around, it was starting to loose its identity but not anymore and they are passionate about their ales.
Plenty of seating area and some of the seating is in smaller rooms which is quite nice so if you want a nice quiet chat you can go into some of the smaller rooms. Has a lovely old pub feel to it and I think one pub which shouldnt have a refurb as it would spoil it.
They have a beer garden at the rear of the pub and dont serve food, depending when you go music can be on, and they have a list of bands performing, usually in the evenings and weekends, they do a quiz every Wednesday, I must get down one Wed and take part.
They have 16 ale pumps around the bar and have a wide range of ales, a board is updated with latest offerings and also posted on Twitter regularly, noticed a few Hopjacker ales appearing.
Bands also feature here and you need to check out their Facebook page here, and website here for list of bands playing.
